During StartupFest Europe the first construction hackathon took place. The success of this day has ensured that a consortium has been formed to organize an ongoing follow-up. So you can participate in this way of thinking and working for a year. Jaarbeurs, Economic Board and Startup Utrecht are going to organize a series of hackathons together with Startupbouw from 2018 where continuous challenges can be hacked.
Why hackathons? We give you five reasons:
1. Big thinking leads to creative solutions;
2. Fresh looks create new perspectives;
3. A hackathon is collaboration 2.0;
4. Instant recruitment and PR;
5. You and your company get an energy boost
Read the entire article about Hackathons here. It may be clear: we love hackathons.
By combining challenging tasks with startups and other innovators new solutions emerge. We have the proof after organizing various large and small hackathons.
Startupbouw organizes hackathons to bring clients with exciting questions together with startups and their solutions.
How it works: it starts with a pressing assignment and a client who wants to invest time and who has budget to get the challenge resolved. Think of questions such as: how do I make my building sustainable? How can I reduce the waste on the construction site to 0? How can I reduce the number of cycling casualties in our province?
Startupbouw then organizes a hackathon: an active working day where startups and other innovators get started with the development of solutions. Afterwards a presentation will take place to the client and optionally with a jury. Because it is not about the event but about real impact, follow up is provided by Startupbouw.
Ongoing hackathon 2018: beyond an event
The next hackathon will take place on December 7 during Transformation Congress in De Doelen. The second hackathon will take place during the Gevelbeurs on 24 January 2017. And will be continued by many more next year.
